วัดมหาธาตุวรมหาวิหาร จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช
วัดพระมหาธาตุวรมหาวิหาร พระอารามหลวงชั้นเอก หรือ วัดพระธาตุ โบราณสถานสถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่อยู่คู่กับจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราชตลอดจน พุทธศานิกชนทั้งหลายมาอย่างยาวนาน วัดพระธาตุมี พระบรมธาตุเจดีย์ ซึ่งถือเป็นสัญญลักษณ์ของจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช และยังเป็นที่บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุของพระพุทธเจ้า เป็นเจดีย์สถาปัตยกรรมแบบทรงระฆังคว่ำ มีจุดเด่นที่ยอดเจดีย์ ซึ่งหุ้มด้วยทองคำแท้ จากความเชื่อเล่าสืบตอบกันมาว่าองค์พระธาตุ ประกอบด้วยทองรูปพรรณและของมีค่ามากมายจรดปลายเจดีย์ ซึ่งสิ่งของมีค่า เหล่านี้พุทธศสานิกชนนำมาถวาย แด่องค์พระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าเพื่อให้ตน ได้พบกับนิพพาน ซึ่งจะมีการจัดแสดงสิ่งมีค่าต่าง ๆ เหล่านี้อยู่ในพิพิทธภัณฑ์ด้านในวัด ปัจจุบันกรมศิลปากรได้ประกาศ จดทะเบียนวัดพระมหาธาตุเป็นโบราณสถาน นอกจากภายในวัดจะมีพระบรมธาตุเจดีย์แล้ว ยังมีวิหารต่าง ๆ ภายในวัด- วิหารพระทรงม้า- วิหารเขียน- วิหารโพธิ์ลังกา- วิหารสามจอม- วิหารพระแอด- วิหารทับเกษตร- วิหารคด- วิหารธรรมศาลา- วิหารหลวง- วิหารโพธิ์พระเดิม เปิดทำการทุกวัน ตั้งแต่เวลา 8.30 – 16.30 น. โทรศัพท์: 075 343 411 พิกัด https://goo.gl/maps/8Wq6dodYptUnePap7
