With the Tourism Authority of Thailand organising its Expat Travel Deal of 2020 on September 11 to 13, it hopes to offer domestic-based tourism to the already existing ex-pat residents that call the country their second home. With words of encouragement from the Governor of TAT, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn said, “Thailand has a large expatriate population many of whom have strong links with the kingdom and who express great love for Thailand and its people. TAT and our strategic partners would like to encourage ex-pats to travel further afield and to discover some of the Amazing Thailand experiences that can be enjoyed in every corner of the country.” The overall goals is to encourage the existing 2,459,785 foreigners who have a permit to work within the country to attract them by showcasing the five regions of north, south, central, east and northeast. Demonstrations include arts and craft native to the local region, as well as ceramic bead bracelets and talks relating to tourism and its future in Thailand post-lockdown.
