Good news to those looking to get their latest tattoos or to touch upon some unfinished ones, as well as people looking to unwind and loosen up those joints can now rejoice! Massage shops and spas across the province of Chon Buri have been granted permission to reopen just after a month-long lockdown which saw them being boarded up due to the strict prevention measures for COVID-19. However, after pressure and protests, the government has granted them permission to reopen so long as they operate within the parameters and requirements of COVID-19 preventive measures.
Massage shops, tattoo parlors, spas, and beauty clinics are among the list of shops that have been permitted to reopen just a month after the announcement to cease all non-essential services. Among the new conditions set by the government, these establishments must now take extra preventative measures in order to prevent further widespread of the COVID-19 disease. These new requirements are; mandatory such as temperature checks, ample supply of hand sanitizers, and strict enforcement of social distancing. These strict preventive measures are a small price to pay for the reopening of the businesse and by helping to further prevent the widespread of the disease means that shops can continue operating.
However, among this list of approved services, the ones that didn’t make the list are; gyms, pools, fitness centers, saunas and massages shops which give ‘soapies’ as part of their service package. Though the good news is that Chon Buri has gone on without any case of reinfection for 6 days and no new cases, the area is still labeled as a ‘red zone’ until further notice.
