The international company Qatar Airways has just announced its intentions of returning to Phuket as the country of Thailand slowly opens up its provinces once more. The company has stated that it will run limited flights to Phuket after the coronavirus pandemic had since caused Phuket to isolate itself. Starting December 4th Qatar Airways has planned to hold weekly flights between Doha and Phuket and has thus sought approval and permission from the Thai authorities to increase the current number of flights on the 10th of December.
Currently, Qatar Airways operates two flights a day between Doha and Bangkok with Phuket looking to be added to that list as well, as the flight runs Thai returnees back to Thailand and authorised personnel as well, including people bearing work permits.
Since the Thai government has been allowing tourists back into the country via the special tourist visas or (STVs), Qatar Airways marks the 2nd Middle Eastern Airlines which has begun resuming flights to and from Thailand including the esteemed Emirates as well.
